Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, assisting chefs in food preparation and ensuring that our high standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Support the cooking process by preparing food items according to recipes and specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all work areas are tidy and hygienic.
  • Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met at all times.
  • Help with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately.
  • Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setting up and closing down workstations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is advantageous.
