Full job description

Part-time Butcher required at Essington Farm, an award-winning farm retail business including butchery, deli, farm shop, restaurant and pick your own. Essington Farm won Butchers Shop of the year in the Midlands and East of England in 2025. Pork and Beef are sourced from our own farm and butchered on site. Sausage, bacon, gammons and pies are also all made from scratch. We pride ourselves on high-quality and locally sourced meats. We are looking for an experienced and passionate part-time butcher to deliver exceptional service.

Key Information

  • Role: Part-Time Butcher
  • Location: Essington Farm, Near Wolverhampton. WV11 2AZ
  • Hours: Part-time. Weekend work is essential

What You Will Do

  • Prepare meat: Counter-ready cutting, boning, rolling, and trimming.
  • Serve customers: Offering outstanding customer service with expert cooking advice.
  • Maintain displays: Keep the butchery counter attractive and fully stocked.
  • Ensure safety: Follow strict food hygiene and deep-cleaning protocols.
  • Support the farm: Showcase our own Essington pork and beef with pride.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: A good all round butcher with proven knife skills in a retail or production butchery. They will have a deep knowledge of different meat cuts and preparation.
  • Standards: Strong commitment to food safety and cleanliness.
  • People skills: Excellent communication skills, a team player, enthusiastic, reliable, and great with customers. You must have the ability to work well in a busy environment.
