Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Full-time Counter Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining an organised sales environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills in a dynamic retail setting, supporting the organisation’s commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that meet their needs
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
  • Offer product information and upsell additional items to maximise sales opportunities
  • Maintain the organisation and visual presentation of the counter area, including merchandising displays
  • Manage stock levels, restock shelves, and ensure products are correctly labelled and priced
  • Handle customer enquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
  • Support inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and reporting discrepancies
  • Assist in organising promotional activities and seasonal displays to attract customers
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards within the retail environment

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts accurately
  • Effective time management to prioritise tasks during busy periods
  • Good phone etiquette when dealing with customer enquiries over the phone
  • Proven ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales performance
  • Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base
  • Demonstrated merchandising skills to create appealing product displays
