Location: Onsite: Leeds United Foundation, Elland Road, Leeds, LS11 0ES Offsite: Grammar School at Leeds, LS17 8GS
Contract: Casual
Hours of Work: Wednesdays, 6:00pm – 8:30pm

What You’ll Be Doing
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sports Therapist to join the Leeds United Foundation Sports Participation Department, supporting players within our Technical Centre programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in protecting and promoting the health, wellbeing, and development of young players through high-quality sports therapy provision. Working closely with players, parents, coaches, and programme staff, you will provide injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, monitoring, and education to support player welfare and performance.
The successful candidate will work within the professional standards of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and uphold the highest levels of safeguarding, clinical governance, and player care.
Key Responsibilities:
Protect and promote the welfare of all players participating within the Technical Centre programme.
Provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and injury management support.
Make informed clinical decisions regarding player participation, training, and return to play.
Support the development and continual improvement of Return to Play protocols.
Deliver injury prevention, player education, coach education, and parent education initiatives.
Conduct injury screening and support player monitoring processes.
Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in accordance with CSP standards.
Manage injury monitoring systems, databases, and medical documentation.
Communicate injury status and rehabilitation progress with players, parents, and coaching staff.
Attend Wednesday evening training sessions and support programme activities.
Complete programme administration including registers, risk assessments, wellness reporting, safeguarding, and health & safety documentation.
Produce written and verbal reports where required.
Maintain and manage sports therapy equipment and resources.
Support Leeds United Foundation's vision, mission, and values.
Ensure all activity complies with safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, health & safety, and GDPR requirements.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll have:
Degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
HCPC Registration.
FA Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) qualification (minimum).
FA Safeguarding Children qualification.
Eligibility to pass an Enhanced DBS check.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, welfare, and child development.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
Flexibility to support additional training sessions and events where required.
Experience
Experience assessing, treating, and rehabilitating sports injuries.
Experience maintaining clinical records and documentation.
Experience communicating effectively with players, parents, and coaches.
Experience working within professional clinical standards and governance frameworks.
Experience supporting participant welfare and wellbeing.
Desirable
Experience working within sport, football, or athletic environments.
Experience working with children and young people.
Experience within youth sport pathways or player development programmes.
Experience delivering injury prevention and player education workshops.
Understanding of long-term athlete development and return-to-play processes.
