This is an exciting opportunity to work with a long established Housing organisation who are leaders within their field and who offer excellent career progression.

We are converting and renovating a number of properties on their books at the moment, including adding extensions, loft conversions and internal refurbishments.

We are looking for an experienced Bricklayer & Ground Worker to do the bricklaying and ground works for our projects.

Role & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly experienced and knowledgeable Bricklayer & Ground Worker to join their team. You will have a great deal of experience of building extensions, including all concrete work, such as foundations, underpinning, temporary works, steelwork, brickwork and blockwork/cavity walls, concrete slab and screeds and pointing.

The role entails working with our multi-talented team to develop loft conversions, add extensions and convert residential houses into flats, as well as building new houses.

Work as part of a small groundwork’s team being fully involved in all stages of the construction:

· Dig foundations using digger or hand tools

· Pour concrete in foundations

· Excavation of the footings

· Prepare for concrete slab

· Install mesh

· Install insulation

· Steel fixing

· Build new drainage

· Build block up to DPC

· Install block and beams

· Screeding

· Build main holes for new sewer

· Dig for utility services (water, gas, power, BT)

· Block paving and paving slabs

· Form new footpaths

Essential Requirements:

· 5+ years+ bricklaying experience

· Experience of working on a range of domestic residential sites

· Experience of operating mini diggers, knock thrus, RSJ’s and Lintols essential

· Experience of re-siting minor drainage to suit new Orangeries layouts/requirements

· Ability to read technical documents, specifications and drawings.

· Ability to communicate on site in a good manner with the homeowners

· Good knowledge of English.

· Good physical condition and endurance

· Must have own tools (Small Plant Machinery is supplied when needed.)

· Ability to work both as part of a small team or unsupervised.

· Clean Driving License

· References Required

· Reliable and Trustworthy at all times, with no Criminal Convictions

· Current and valid CSCS card (preferably Blue Card)

· Own PPE (personal protection equipment) required

· Minimum of three references and examples of work is required.

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm; overtime available on weekends and after hours

You will be working with an outstanding team where most workers have been with us for over 5 years.

We like to hire for the long term - you will need to be reliable and loyal to be considered for this role.

Pay: £225.00-£250.00 per day
