Job Role: Maintenance Officer

Accountable to: Maintenance department / Director

Location: Head Office, Nottingham, Travel as required to meet the needs of the organisation

Hours of Employment: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (excluding lunch breaks)

Job Summary:

The post holder will be required to support the Maintenance manager and other Officers in all aspects of the maintenance function. To demonstrate professional behaviour, good teamwork and respect for employee confidentiality always working in accordance with company values.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Setting up new properties with all relevant furniture, equipment and tools.

2. Facilitating property moves for young people in safe and responsive manner.

3. Prioritise incoming maintenance requests and communicate well with all parties involved to ensure access to the property is available and is safe.

4. Ensure that all health and safety related issues are responded to appropriately.

5. Strive to ensure that quality of work is always to a high standard to maintain the quality of the property.

6. Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.

7. Performing preventative maintenance to reduce any hazards / risks.

8. Handling basic repairs and maintenance.

9. Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.

10. Diagnosing issues accurately and correcting them.

11. Repairing furniture, equipment, or structures as necessary.

12. Other aspects of responsibilities include painting, plastering, gardening, general plumbing, general electrical, joinery, tiling, hanging doors, fitting door frames, brickwork, fencing, paving, lock fitting/changing, handles, replacing windows, roof patching, removing rubbish, general cleaning, pointing brickwork, lifting.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

· Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues as necessary.

· Ability to safely use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

· Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

· Experience performing routine maintenance.

· Strong organizational and follow up skills.

· Eye for detail.

· Professional presentation and attitude.

· Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

· Strong time management skills.

· Experience working as part of a team.

· Able to maintain confidentiality.

· Ensure that all health and safety related issues are responded to appropriately.

A van will be provided for us so a Full UK driving licence required
