Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastering techniques and be proficient in using both hand tools and power tools. This role involves working on various projects, including residential and commercial properties, where you will apply plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to create a smooth finish. A good understanding of masonry and bricklaying is advantageous, as well as experience in carpentry and welding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, repairing, and applying bonding agents as necessary.
• Mix plaster according to specifications for different applications.
• Apply plaster using trowels, floats, and other hand tools to achieve a smooth finish on walls and ceilings.
• Work with power tools for cutting and shaping materials as required.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and bricklayers, to ensure project specifications are met.
• Conduct repairs on existing plasterwork, ensuring high-quality finishes are maintained.
• Follow safety protocols while working on roofs or elevated surfaces.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area throughout the duration of each project.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plasterer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to plastering work.
• Knowledge of masonry techniques is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with carpentry practices will be considered an asset.
• Ability to weld is a plus but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality finishes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks safely.
