Your Duties:

You will be responsible for undertaking a full range of roofing works in the maintenance and refurbishment of Housing Executive properties, including but not limited to:

• Removing existing roof coverings and replacing with various roof types.
• Repairing and replacing roof leadwork.
• Renewing or rebedding hip and ridge tiles.
• Renewing or rebedding chimney pots.
• Repairing mineral felt and asphalt flat roof coverings.
• Replacing slates or tiles in isolated patches.
• Surveying and identifying faults in pitched and flat roofs.
• Replacing, repairing, or cleaning guttering and fascia as required.
• In addition, you will carry out a range of multi-skilled maintenance tasks beyond core roofing duties, working independently without reliance on other trades.

Your Profile:

Essential:

Applicants must demonstrate the following by the closing date:

• Completion of an apprenticeship in Roofing (time-served or skills-based).
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-apprenticeship experience working as a Roofer in property improvement or maintenance.
• Proficient in completing a wide range of roofing tasks independently.
• Strong practical understanding of current Health & Safety legislation in a maintenance/repairs environment.
• A full current driving licence.

Applicants must also demonstrate (assessed at interview):

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Strong customer service ethos.
• Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

Desirable:

• Experience delivering a response maintenance service.
• Full driving licence including C1 category.

Additional Information:

• Full time, Temporary, 13 weeks initially.
• 37 hours per week: Monday – Thursday 08:00–16:00, Friday 08:00–15:30.
• A Basic Access NI Check is Required.
