Roofer – Social Housing Reactive Repairs

We are looking for an experienced Roofer for consistent reactive repair work across East Sussex, mainly covering the TN31 to TN39 postcode areas.

This would suit someone based in or around Hastings, Bexhill, Rye, Battle, St Leonards, or nearby areas, who wants regular local work without spending half the day travelling all over the South East.

The work is social housing repairs on occupied properties. The Jobs are already inspected, assessed and issued with an approved work order, so you are not expected to go out quoting, surveying or working everything out from scratch.

You will be given the job details, attend the property, set up safely, complete the repair required, take clear before, during and after photos, and move on to the next job.

This is steady volume work for someone who understands social housing maintenance and wants straightforward local work.

The work will include:

• Reactive roofing repairs
• Felt and batten repairs
• Replacing slipped, broken or missing tiles
• Ridge, verge and hip tile repairs
• Pointing and cement work
• Leadwork repairs
• Leak tracing and minor roof repairs
• Fascia, soffit and guttering repairs
• Gutter realignments, cleaning and minor replacements
• General roofline maintenance
• Taking clear before, during and after photos
• Completing work in line with the approved work order

Requirements:

• Experienced roofer
• Previous social housing experience preferred
• TETRA certification (preferred)
• Own tools
• Own van
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work from approved work orders
• Comfortable taking clear job photos
• Good standard of work
• Presentable and professional when attending occupied homes
• Good communication skills
• DBS check will be required due to the nature of the work

What we are looking for:

Our ideal roofer is someone who has done social housing work before and understands volume-based reactive repairs. You should be comfortable attending pre-assessed jobs, completing the agreed repair, taking photos of the work, and keeping the day moving.

This is not a quoting role or a surveying role. Jobs are already assessed and approved before they are issued. We need someone practical, reliable and experienced who can complete the work order properly and efficiently.
