Job Summary

IRS Containers is looking for a reliable and hardworking Shipping Container Inspector/Depot Operative to join our busy container depot in Bootle, Liverpool.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting shipping containers, identifying damage and taking clear photos to assist with repair estimates.

This is a hands-on position combining container inspections with general depot duties.

Previous experience within the shipping container industry would be advantageous, although training may be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspections of shipping containers to identify damage and defects.
• Take clear, accurate photographs of container damage to support repair estimates.
• Identify damage to container panels, doors, floors, roofs and structural components.
• Record inspection findings accurately.
• Carry out steam cleaning and container cleaning duties when required.
• Assist with container gate in and out movements and depot paperwork.
• Work closely with depot repair team and depot management.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working enviroment.
• Follow company health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience is preffered.
• A basic understanding of shipping container construction and damage would be advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to assist with other depot duties.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a busy operational enviroment.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
