Puddleducks North Finchley is looking for a passionate and exciting Nursery Apprentice to join the new team! Offering children 3 months to 5 years the opportunities to thrive and grow through awe and wonder, we want to work with someone and support them through their qualification to L3 Early Years Educator.

Learn to:
- Support children to learn
- Comfort and engage children
- Plan activities
- Set out areas to provide stimulated opportunities
- Follow daily care routines, i.e. sleep times, nappy changes etc
- Group times- engage children to sing and participate in story time, small games etc
- Encourage play both inside and outdoors in all weathers
- Work as part of the team as well as individually with a small group of children as ratio allows
- To learn about childcare and education through observation and study of the OFSTED curriculum (EYFS) and following assignments set by the evaluator/tutor
- To put into practice skills learnt from course deliverer, colleagues and peers with higher qualifications and experience
- Responsible for the day-to-day care and education of the children attending the nursery and specifically those in their own key group
- To keep informed of all developments and initiatives regarding childcare and education, both at local and national level and ensure that that this is communicated to other colleagues
- To monitor and evaluate the quality of provision for the families through team meetings and self-evaluation through quality standards and development planning
- Actively learning the organisation and maintenance of records and reports
- To ensure that appropriate standards of safety, security and hygiene are implemented and maintained to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, staff, students and other users
- To ensure that all areas are kept clean and hygienic and provide cleaning assistance as per allocated rotas
- To have an on-going commitment to continuing professional development and be available for staff development opportunities and training
- Attend staff meetings and be available to represent the Nursery out of hours
- Any ad-hoc duties assigned by the management

Pay: From £7.55 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
