Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and carpentry, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing tiles in residential and commercial settings, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to design specifications. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Duties

  • Measure and cut tiles to fit designated areas using hand tools and power tools.
  • Prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning, smoothing, and applying necessary adhesives.
  • Install tiles on floors, walls, roofs, and other surfaces according to design plans.
  • Ensure tiles are properly aligned, plumb, and level during installation.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required when handling materials and equipment.
  • Fabricate custom pieces as needed for specific projects.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and masons to complete projects efficiently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tile Setter or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and masonry equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50kg) safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations related to tiling work.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Previous experience in roofing or welding is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
