Full job description

Doorly — Local Roof Cleaners — Derby, Swadlincote, Ashby, Burton, Coalville, Tamworth, Long Eaton

Self-Employed Door Canvasser Wanted

Work on your own terms.

Doorly is a growing local roof cleaning company based in Swadlincote. We’ve completed hundreds of jobs locally and are expanding our canvassing team to match growing demand.

You’ll be walking local streets, spotting obvious roof cleaning needs, and having quick friendly chats with homeowners, genuinely no hard selling.

The typical interaction is: “I noticed your roof is due a clean, can I grab your number for a quick quote?”That’s 90% of the job. You’ll find that a lot of customers engage with you since roof cleaning is a genuine need and desire, whereas double glazing, energy, charity, etc is much harder to get people to engage with.

This is doorstep work. Some people love it, some don’t. Consistent rejection is part of it and it can be tough some days. If that doesn’t sound like something you could shake off and move straight on from, this probably isn’t the right fit, and that’s completely fine.

You need:

  • A resilient, upbeat attitude, able to move on immediately after a no
  • Right to work in the UK (verification required)
  • Ability to get around independently in your chosen area

How pay works:

You generate the interest at the doorstep, we close the booking over the phone, you get paid 20% of the job value of what you’ve pitched when it converts to a paid job. Simple, transparent, and entirely based on your results.

Example: If you knock someone’s door because you noticed they have a mossy roof, you obtain and pass over their phone number, and we call them and they book the job at £700, you earn £140 when the job is confirmed.

£4000+ per month is the genuinely realistic earning potential. If you knock on 200 doors per shift, 5 days a week, and 0.5%-1% of homes convert to a booked job (1 or 2 jobs booked per shift), you would earn around this figure. Pay is entirely commission based, high performers can earn extremely well.

Roof cleaning is usually a £700 sale, not a £12,000 one as it is with double glazing/solar panels etc. Homeowners don’t always need to sleep on it, consult their partner, check their finances, or be chased for three weeks. They look up, see the problem, and can often say yes on the same phone call. Conversion happens fast, and there’s rarely buyer’s remorse cancellation the next morning.

No hard selling, ever. You’re pointing at something they can already see and offering to fix it, if they aren’t interested, you say thanks and move on. The doorstep conversation is 30 seconds, not 45 minutes. The close rate is high and the leads don’t go cold.

This is a self-employed subcontract opportunity. You are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. There is no guaranteed income, earnings are entirely performance based.

Our territory covers: Derby, Swadlincote, Burton, Ashby, Coalville, Tamworth, Long Eaton, and some surrounding areas.
