Experienced Roofer – Contract / Self-Employed Opportunity

Location: North West England – Field Based
Day Rate: £200 per day initially, increasing to £220 subject to demonstrated competency
Contract Type: Interim / Contract

The Opportunity

An established and growing business within the renewable energy sector are looking for an Experienced Roofer.

This is an opportunity for a skilled roofing professional looking for ongoing contract work with a business delivering projects throughout the North West.

The successful candidate will work across customer sites, supporting roofing activities associated with the company's installation projects.

Previous experience working alongside Solar PV installation teams would be advantageous, although experienced roofers from traditional residential roofing backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out roofing work across customer sites throughout the North West.
  • Support roofing activities associated with renewable energy installations.
  • Undertake roof preparation, repairs and associated installation work as required.
  • Work safely with roofing materials, equipment and access systems.
  • Identify and report any roofing defects or safety concerns.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Follow site-specific risk assessments and safe working procedures.
  • Liaise with installation teams and customers where required.
  • Complete relevant job documentation and weekly timesheets.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Roofer.
  • Strong practical roofing skills.
  • Experience working safely at height.
  • Good understanding of roofing materials and installation methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an installation team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Willingness to travel to sites throughout the North West.

Desirable Experience

  • Residential pitched roofing.
  • Tiled and slate roofing systems.
  • Roofing work associated with Solar PV installations.
  • Experience working alongside solar installation teams.
  • Relevant working-at-height training or roofing certifications.

Day Rate & Working Arrangements

  • £200 per day initially.
  • Potential increase to £220 per day following a satisfactory assessment of competency and performance.
  • Contract / self-employed engagement, subject to confirmation of the appropriate engagement structure.
  • Company van and fuel card provided.
  • Field-based work, travelling directly from home to customer sites.
  • Work predominantly across the North West.
  • No overnight stays currently required.
  • Opportunity for ongoing work with a growing business.

Pay: £200.00-£205.00 per day
