We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work at heights. The Roofer will collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

  • Install roofing systems including shingles, tiles, and flat roofs according to specifications.
  • Repair and replace damaged roofing materials as needed.
  • Fabricate and build roof structures using various materials.
  • Ensure proper sealing and waterproofing of roofs to prevent leaks.
  • Interpret schematics and blueprints to determine project requirements.
  • Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre materials safely on-site.
  • Utilise hand tools and equipment effectively for roofing tasks.
  • Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Slating – natural and man-made slate installation, repairs and replacement
  • Tiling – concrete and clay roof tiles, including repairs and replacement
  • EPDM roofing – installation, detailing, repairs and patching
  • Liquid roofing systems – preparation, primer, detailing and liquid membrane application
  • Flat roofing – general repairs, maintenance and waterproofing
  • Leadwork – lead flashing, valleys, soakers and detailing
  • Roofline works – fascias, soffits, guttering and downpipes
  • Roof felt and membrane repairs/replacement
  • Ridge and hip repairs – repointing and dry-fix systems
  • Chimney repairs – flashing, pointing and weatherproofing
  • Metal roofing applications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Physical fitness for heavy lifting and working at heights
