Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window and Door Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows and doors across various residential and commercial projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction trades to develop their skills within a dynamic environment. The position is paid and suitable for those who take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

Duties

  • Measure and assess installation sites to ensure precise fitting of windows and doors
  • Remove old fixtures and prepare openings for new installations
  • Install windows, doors, and related components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
  • Ensure all fittings are secure, level, and sealed to prevent drafts or leaks
  • Conduct repairs or replacements of existing window and door units as required
  • Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, or plastering teams when necessary
  • Follow schematics, technical drawings, or instructions to ensure accurate installation
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction-related roles such as carpentry, fabrication, masonry, or general building work
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
  • Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings relevant to window and door fitting
  • Experience with roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials safely
  • Relevant construction qualifications or certifications are desirable but not mandatory

This role is self employed price work. areas covered will be Southampton, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, salisbury areas and surrounding.

Pay: £30,000.00-£58,389.10 per year
