Full job description

Trade Recruit is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing roofing company, for experienced Self-Employed/Subcontract Roofers to support their increasing workload across South West Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and reliable roofer looking for competitive day rates, consistent work and the potential to establish a long-term working relationship with a busy roofing contractor.

The rate available is £220–£280 per day, depending on experience, skill set and the type of roofing work you are able to undertake.

The Role

You'll be carrying out a mixture of roofing installations, repairs, maintenance and remedial work across a variety of properties and projects.

We are particularly interested in experienced roofers who can work independently, identify problems quickly and deliver a high standard of workmanship without requiring constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out pitched and flat roofing works
  • Install, repair and replace slate and tiled roofs
  • Diagnose leaks, water ingress and roofing defects
  • Complete general roof repairs and remedial works
  • Carry out leadwork, flashing and weatherproofing
  • Undertake flat roofing repairs and installations where experienced
  • Repair guttering, fascias and associated roofline systems
  • Complete planned and reactive roofing works
  • Assess roofing issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
  • Maintain excellent standards of workmanship
  • Work safely and professionally on every project
  • Communicate effectively with customers, site teams and management

What We're Looking For

  • Proven professional roofing experience
  • Strong experience with slate and tile roofing
  • Confident carrying out repairs and fault finding independently
  • Flat roofing experience advantageous
  • Leadwork experience highly desirable
  • Able to complete work efficiently without compromising quality
  • Reliable and able to manage your own workload
  • Professional and customer-focused approach
  • Own tools
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant roofing qualifications/cards desirable where applicable

Subcontract Package

£220–£280 per day, depending on experience and skill set
