Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in roofing installation and repair, with a strong understanding of construction principles. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial buildings, ensuring high standards of safety and quality. The successful applicant will be responsible for executing roofing tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and project specifications.

Duties

  • Install, repair, and maintain various types of roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution of projects
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
  • Use welding and fabrication skills for custom roofing components when necessary
  • Assist with carpentry tasks related to roof structures and supports
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal sheets, and other roofing components
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential issues or safety hazards on-site
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly

Requirements

  • Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, or related construction roles
  • Knowledge of schematics, welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately
  • Physical fitness to work at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Construction experience is highly desirable; previous roofing experience is essential
  • Valid health and safety certifications relevant to construction work are preferred but not mandatory
