Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Roofer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Your expertise will ensure roofs are durable, weather-resistant, and built to the highest safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your craftsmanship and technical skills while contributing to the safety and integrity of our clients’ structures. We are based in Ashford, but cover all of Kent, East Sussex, and some of Surrey. You will be based on the road, and various projects. We supply a company van, and card for fuel and materials.

Duties

  • Read and interpret roofing schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repair processes.
  • Measure, cut, and shape roofing materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to fit specific project requirements.
  • Install various roofing systems including shingles, metal panels, membranes, and other materials with precision and attention to detail.
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, metal sheets, and insulation while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Utilize carpentry skills for framing, decking, or structural modifications related to roofing projects.
  • Assist with plumbing or masonry tasks when required for specialized roofing applications or repairs.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials; ensure all safety standards are followed during every phase of work.

Skills

  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings related to roofing systems.
  • Driving license, and tools.
  • Experience in other trade work preferred.
  • Experienced with hand tools such as hammers, chisels, pry bars, and measuring tapes.
  • Familiarity with power tools including drills, saws, nail guns, and grinders.
  • Strong construction background with knowledge of roofing installation processes.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing large or cumbersome materials.
  • Knowledge of plumbing or masonry fundamentals beneficial for specialized roofing projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site during unforeseen challenges.

Pay: £38,000.00-£44,200.00 per year
