Location: Nottingham and London

Hybrid: 3 days in-office (Tuesday to Thursday)

Start date: 13th September 2027

Eligibility: Students graduating in 2027, or have graduated in 2026 with a STEM or Economics degree. (This includes undergraduates, masters and PhD students).

You’ll also need strong quantitative skills and A-Level Maths (or equivalent).

Sponsorship: We’re able to sponsor if you currently have the right to work in the UK (including student/graduate visas)

Closing date: Sunday 6th September 2026 (subject to close early)

As we recruit on a rolling basis, we recommend applying as soon as you can

At Capital One, we’re on a mission to be a force for good in Lending - and we want you to join us.

We are one of the largest credit card providers in the UK, combining data-driven innovation with a customer-focused approach to help millions of people succeed with credit. Throughout our 30-year history, we’ve consistently been recognised as a great place to work; in 2026, Capital One was officially ranked 9th in the UK’s Best Workplaces™ list. Hear from our team about what it’s like working at Capital One UK.

The role

Our Strategy Analysts shape key business decisions across the customer lifecycle, from idea to execution. They form strategic recommendations supported by great analytical insight, get buy-in from senior leadership, and deliver change in market with cross-functional teams.

And as a graduate, you’ll have real responsibility from day 1. You will be based in one of our strategy teams, with a peer buddy, mentor and manager on hand to help you get up to speed. We will train you to use best-in-class coding and analytical tools, and then you’ll get your first project to lead. And as you become more experienced, you’ll grow your impact further.

Because there’s a wide variety of strategic work, rotations are a core part of the culture. Moving across teams helps our graduates become well-rounded, strategic thinkers, able to dive into a new context and quickly get up to speed.

As a Strategy Analyst you could be:

  • Finding innovative ways to attract new customers and ensure our products meet their needs.

  • Redesigning our card pricing strategy to maximise value.

  • Creating strategies to support our customers to manage their finances, build their credit, or protect them (and us) from fraud.

  • Considering how we should adapt our lending policy to a changing macroeconomic environment.

What we are looking for

To set you up for success we ask that you have or are currently studying towards a STEM or Economics degree, and have a Maths A Level (or equivalent).

Outside of subjects, we’re interested in how your mind works. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent quantitative skills.

  • Can solve complex business problems with a data-driven approach.

  • Has clear and effective written & verbal communication.

  • Is motivated to drive business change.

  • Has curiosity to learn and take ownership of your work and development.

And don’t worry, you do not need any prior coding experience - we will train you up.

What’s in it for you

As a Strategy Analyst Graduate, you’ll have the opportunity to work on varied and challenging work that has a real impact on our business and our customers.

We will invest in you, with technical skills training when you first join, and personal development training throughout your first two years. We’ll give you the tools you need to become a well rounded analyst, a strategic thinker, and a great communicator.

There’s no limit to how far you can go with us. Our Strategy Analysts are the future leaders of our business - both our current and former CEO joined as graduates! We reward high performance and we promote people when they’re ready for the next level - so you can go far, and fast.

In addition to career development, our comprehensive benefits package is designed to grow with you, ensuring your wellbeing is prioritised at every stage of your career:

  • Wealth & Future: Competitive pension and performance-based bonus schemes

  • Holidays: Start with 25 days of annual leave, increasing with tenure. Need more? You have the option to buy 5 additional days.

  • Health: Access premium care through our private medical insurance, and our free fully equipped Nottingham gym.

A full list of our benefits is available here.

The Recruitment Process

Step 1: Apply! There’s no need to tailor your CV or attach a cover letter. After your initial application, if you meet the eligibility criteria you’ll complete online testing, which assess the core behavioural and quantitative skills required for the role.

Step 2: Next up, we’ll be looking to understand your motivations and interest in the role and Capital One.

Step 3: You’ll then get to (virtually) meet with one of our Strategy Analysts to complete a case study interview.

Step 4: The in-person assessment day, which consists of a final case study and individual product interview. A great chance for you to have a look around our office and see the working environment!

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent full time position based in either our Nottingham or London office.

We embrace a hybrid approach to work. You'll spend three days a week in the office (Tuesday to Thursday), with Monday and Friday being optional work-from-home days.

What you should know about how we recruit

We pride ourselves on hiring the best people, not the same people. Building diverse and inclusive teams is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do. We want to work with top talent: whoever you are, whatever you look like, wherever you come from. We know it’s about what you do, not just what you say. That’s why we make our recruitment process fair and accessible.

We value diversity, inclusion and belonging at our core. We empower our associates to do great work by creating an inclusive culture—one that values diverse perspectives, fosters collaboration and encourages innovative ideas—and a place where associates of all backgrounds can thrive by bringing their most authentic selves to work. We call this our Culture of Belonging, and it rests at the heart of our business.

Our associate-led Business Resource Groups were created to help support our diverse population and include over 10 groups across our offices. Because each Business Resource Group is as unique as the population it serves, they offer a range of activities, networking opportunities, special events and learning programmes to associates.

Capital One is committed to diversity in the workplace.
