Full job description

We are seeking an exceptional and experienced leader to join Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Deputy Operations Director – Family and Clinical Support Services (FCSS).

This is a senior operational leadership role within one of the Trust's largest divisions, supporting services that employ approximately 1,900 staff and manage an annual budget of around £100 million. The postholder will work closely with the Operations Director, Clinical Directors, Clinical Matrons and Operational Service Managers to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality and financially sustainable services across multiple sites.

As a key member of the divisional leadership team, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the Division, drive operational performance and lead the delivery of national and local priorities. You will be responsible for developing strong partnerships with clinical and operational colleagues, ensuring patients receive the highest standards of care whilst supporting service improvement, workforce development and organisational transformation.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with significant operational management experience, a strong track record of delivering performance against challenging targets, and a passion for improving services for patients and staff

The Deputy Operations Director will provide senior operational leadership across the Family and Clinical Support Services Division, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality and patient-centred services.

Key responsibilities include:
Leading operational performance across the Division, ensuring delivery of quality, workforce, access and financial targets.
Working with Clinical Directors, Matrons and Operational Service Managers to improve patient outcomes, experience and service performance
Supporting the development and implementation of divisional and Trust strategies.
Leading service improvement and transformation programmes to deliver sustainable change.
Ensuring effective governance, risk management, business planning and performance reporting arrangements are in place.
Managing resources effectively to deliver divisional objectives and value for money.
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery and organisational priorities.
Deputising for the Operations Director as required and participating in senior management and on-call responsibilities.

Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.

We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
