Health & Safety Officers

Location: Moira & Omagh (travel across both sites required)
Job Types: Permanent & Maternity Cover positions available

Silverwood Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading agri-food business with operations across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Due to continued development within their Health & Safety function, our client is seeking to appoint two Health & Safety Officers — one on a permanent basis and one on a maternity cover contract. These are excellent opportunities for motivated Health & Safety professionals to join a progressive organisation offering career development, training, and the opportunity to make a real impact across a multi-site environment.

The successful candidates will be required to work across both the Moira and Omagh sites, with additional travel to other company locations across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland as required. Flexibility to travel between locations is essential.

The Role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the successful candidates will support the ongoing development and delivery of Health & Safety standards across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development and continuous improvement of Health & Safety Management Systems across all sites;
  • Completing and reviewing risk assessments;
  • Ensuring employees, contractors, and sites remain compliant with relevant Health & Safety legislation across NI and ROI;
  • Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to managers and employees;
  • Investigating workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses;
  • Preparing monthly Health & Safety reports and analysing key statistics;
  • Conducting site inspections and audits;
  • Delivering Health & Safety training and promoting a positive safety culture across the organisation.

The Person

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Minimum one year’s experience within a Health & Safety related role;
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards);
  • A third-level qualification in a related discipline (desirable but not essential);
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety Management Systems, including hazard identification, risk management processes, and investigations;
  • Knowledge of NI and ROI Health & Safety legislation would be advantageous;
  • Excellent communication skills with strong written and presentation ability;
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative within a dynamic working environment;
  • Full driving licence and access to own transport.

What’s on Offer?

Our client offers an excellent salary and benefits package including:

  • Healthcare plan;
  • Company pension scheme;
  • Life assurance;
  • Health & wellbeing initiatives;
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities;
  • Excellent career progression opportunities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation where you can develop your Health & Safety career while making a real impact across multiple operational sites.

To apply, please contact Silverwood Recruitment today.
