Business Intelligence Analyst

Kilmarnock, Ayrshire | Full-Time | Permanent

We're looking for a commercially minded Business Intelligence Analyst to play a pivotal role in transforming data into meaningful insights that drive business performance. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing multi-site business where data is at the heart of strategic and operational decision-making.

As part of a significant investment in data, reporting, and analytics capabilities, you'll lead the development of a central data warehouse and help establish a single source of truth across the organisation. Working closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and senior stakeholders, you'll influence how data is captured, managed, and leveraged to support growth.

What You'll Be Doing

Build Strong Data Foundations

  • Design and develop a central data warehouse integrating multiple business systems.
  • Create scalable data models and structures to support reporting and analytics.
  • Improve data quality, governance, and consistency across the organisation.
  • Work with internal teams and external providers to develop and maintain data pipelines.

Deliver Insight That Drives Performance

  • Build dashboards and reporting solutions covering key operational and financial metrics.
  • Analyse trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
  • Enable self-service reporting while maintaining robust data governance.
  • Present complex findings in a clear, actionable way for non-technical stakeholders.

Support Commercial Growth

  • Partner with Finance and Operations teams to understand business performance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, investment decisions, and expansion projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and customer outcomes through data.

Drive Innovation

  • Explore AI-enabled analytics, automation, and predictive modelling opportunities.
  • Support the transition from historical reporting to forward-looking insights.
  • Help prepare data infrastructure for future AI and advanced analytics initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analyst, or similar analytics role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured datasets.
  • Experience designing or working with data warehouses and centralised data models.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualisation tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex data clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience within hospitality, retail, or other multi-site environments.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Snowflake.
  • Experience working with data from systems such as EPOS, CRM, reservations, payroll, or finance platforms.
  • Knowledge of forecasting, predictive analytics, or AI-driven solutions.

About You

You are:

  • Curious and commercially focused.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
  • Passionate about creating structure and improving processes.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to simplify complexity.
  • Enthusiastic about innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to build and shape a modern BI function.
  • Significant influence on business-wide decision-making.
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic projects.
  • A forward-thinking environment investing in data, technology, and AI.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
