Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner to join our large multi- sited healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, nursing homes, and home care environments. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of medical practices and the ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient examinations and assessments to diagnose medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
  • Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance medical knowledge and practice.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding health management, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Engage in public health initiatives aimed at improving community health outcomes.
  • Utilise medical imaging techniques as necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Offer specialised care for seniors, including hospice and palliative care when required.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Reporting potential risks identified.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution with a valid medical licence to practice in the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
  • Experience in nursing home or senior care environments is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with home care practices is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
