Director of Sales & Marketing

Ellenborough Park Hotel & Spa - Luxury 5-Star Hotel

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional, commercially driven Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the growth strategy for our luxury 5-star hotel.

We are looking for a proactive, internationally connected sales leader with a proven track record of driving luxury business growth across key international feeder markets and high-end travel sectors.

The successful candidate will possess strong industry relationships and experience working across luxury hospitality, travel and lifestyle sectors, including consortia, agency, MICE and high-end leisure markets.

You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing international market share and positioning the hotel as a leading luxury destination within the global marketplace.

Hospitality background essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a proactive international sales and marketing strategy focused on driving luxury inbound business
  • Personally identify, target and secure new business opportunities from key international feeder markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across luxury travel agencies, consortia partners, DMCs, corporate and MICE markets, high-end leisure planners and key lifestyle networks.
  • Increase direct revenue through strategic partnerships, luxury representation and targeted market activity
  • Lead international sales missions, trade shows, networking events and familiarisation trips
  • Create and deliver country-specific account development plans with measurable commercial outcomes
  • Drive proactive sales activity rather than relying on inbound enquiries
  • Develop new revenue opportunities across luxury hospitality and targeted business segments.
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure strong brand positioning across digital, PR and social channels
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities within luxury hospitality
  • Lead, motivate and develop the sales and marketing team to achieve ambitious commercial targets
  • Work closely with senior leadership on forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning

About You

  • Proven experience within a luxury 4 or 5-star hotel environment
  • Strong international sales background with established networks in luxury travel markets
  • Highly proactive and commercially focused with a hunter mentality
  • Demonstrated success in generating new business and growing international revenue
  • Experience working with luxury consortia
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
