Customer Account Manager

£45,000 - £55,000 per annum plus Car & excellent benefits

About the Job:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial team as a Customer Account Manager. The Customer Account Manager is responsible for managing an agreed portfolio of customer accounts across Foodservice, Retail, B2B and Trader channels. The role supports profitable sales growth by developing effective customer relationships, managing day-to-day account activity, supporting customer service excellence and working closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered. The role contributes to achieving budgeted sales volumes, target pricing and customer service standards, while supporting the Commercial Director and wider Commercial team in identifying opportunities to maximise existing business and convert agreed new sales opportunities.

As the Customer Account Manager, you will:

  • Manage an agreed portfolio of customer accounts, acting as a key day-to-day contact and ensuring customers receive a joined-up and professional service from Leprino.
  • Build positive and sustainable relationships with allocated customers, developing a strong understanding of their needs, priorities, service expectations and commercial opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director, Account Controllers and wider Commercial team to support long-term profitable business, including account plans, pricing discussions, quarterly arrangements and longer-term customer agreements.
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams, including Customer Service, Quality Assurance, New Product Development, Operations, Planning, Sales and Marketing, to ensure customer requirements are understood and progressed appropriately.
  • Support clear and timely communication between customers and internal teams, ensuring issues, risks, opportunities and service requirements are escalated where appropriate.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to review performance, address service matters, identify growth opportunities and support the achievement of customer satisfaction.
  • Represent Leprino professionally in all customer interactions, demonstrating commercial awareness, responsiveness and a solutions-focused approach.

About You:

The successful applicant will have:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent relevant experience in a commercial, sales or account management role.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in a sales, customer account management or commercial support role within the food industry.
  • Understanding of customer account management, commercial processes, customer service expectations and the importance of profitable sales growth
  • Developing negotiation skills, including an understanding of opening, target and walkaway pricing principles.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Good numerical ability and commercial awareness. Good IT skills, including confidence using standard business systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to maintain effective records.
  • Ability to listen, understand customer issues and work with others to identify practical solutions.
