A Used Car Sales Administrator at an independent garage manages the complete vehicle lifecycle from purchase to handover. Unlike a franchised dealership, this role requires high autonomy, direct communication with the business owner, and multitasking across stock buying, valeting coordination, and customer finance.Core Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Invoicing: Creating sales invoices
  • HPI & History Checks: Running background checks on newly bought trade-in stock.
  • Online Advertising: Uploading vehicle details, specs, and photos to AutoTrader, eBay, and Facebook.
  • V5C & Tax Management: Processing vehicle logbooks and taxing cars via the DVLA portal.
  • Finance Administration: Submitting customer applications directly to independent finance brokers (e.g., MotoNovo, Close Brothers).
  • Trade Invoices: Managing payout paperwork for part-exchanges
  • Local Compliance: Maintaining the garage’s physical stock book for local Trading Standards compliance.
