Job description

At Salix Homes we are about so much more than just providing homes, we are committed to delivering inclusive services and are passionate about providing support to help our customers to live, grow and thrive in our local community.

We are currently looking for a Customer Support Officer to join our new Customer Support team. As someone who has a passion for advocating for vulnerable customers, you will be focussed on delivering the best outcomes for their health and wellbeing.

As a Customer Support Officer, you’ll deliver high quality intensive housing management support services to new and existing tenants who are referred through to the service. Working proactively with external support agencies and partners, you will help tenants live well and sustain their tenancies.

The role - What I’ll be doing

If successful, the main duties of your role will include responsibility for:

  • Collaborating with external service providers to ensure customers are provided with holistic, multi-disciplinary support.
  • Managing a varied and complex customer support case load.
  • Carrying out needs assessments whilst implementing and developing risk assessments and outcome-based support plans.
  • Undertaking pre tenancy work and starter tenancy visits with new tenants identified as having support needs.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge and information about local support services that will benefit customers.
  • Applying appropriate professional curiosity and common sense when encountering any concerns about children or vulnerable adults as a designated safeguarding officer for Salix.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience of working with partner agencies to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.
  • Experience of providing support services to customers with complex needs, ideally in a housing setting.
  • A detailed understanding of the challenges faced by those living in disadvantaged communities.
  • Someone with a sensitive and empathetic nature who is able to communicate professionally with all customers, including those with care and support needs, in a manner that recognises their needs whilst meeting service objectives.

What we offer as a company

  • Annual Salary £35,412 - £37,280
  • Up to 34 day’s holiday + bank holidays
  • Flexi Time
  • Flexible Working and Family friendly policies
  • Generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme
  • Life Assurance worth 3 x annual salary
  • Health Cash Plan which also provides a range of discounts including discounted gym membership
  • An inclusive and positive colleague culture.
  • Accredited Good Employment Charter employer.

Salix Homes are proud to have been awarded membership to the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter and we will constantly strive to improve working conditions for our colleagues.
