An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Herdsperson to join our progressive dairy farm near Taunton.

About the Farm

We milk 550 Holsteins and 150 Jerseys through a modern 40:40 Boumatic parlour. Our high-yield housed herd supplies milk to Cathedral City Cheese (Saputo). The farm benefits from excellent facilities, purpose-built within the last 8 years, and a supportive, forward-thinking team environment.

The Role Includes:

  • Assisting with calving and fresh cow management
  • Maintaining high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and biosecurity
  • Supporting feeding and bedding routines
  • Working closely with farm owners and senior staff to achieve herd performance targets

A full UK driving licence is essential. Tractor driving and telehandler experience would be beneficial but are not essential.

About You

  • Positive, reliable, and hardworking
  • Passionate about dairy farming and animal welfare
  • Good attention to detail and strong observational skills
  • Able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Previous dairy experience preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidate
  • Keen to learn and develop within a progressive farming business

What We Offer

  • 10 days worked over 2 weeks (every other weekend off plus 1 day off during the week: averaging 45–55 hours/week)
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Excellent facilities and supportive working environment
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Ongoing training and opportunities for career progression
  • Competitive salary based on experience

Interested? We’d love to hear from you!
