Scaffolding Gang Required – 4 Operatives – £150–£280 Per Day – Solihull

Job Location: UHB Solihull Hospital, Lode Lane, Solihull, B91 2JL

Job Type: Temporary / Short-Term Contract

Start Date: Beginning of November 2026

Duration: 4 weeks initially, with potential for extension

Pay: £150.00–£280.00 per day (depending on qualifications)

Shift Pattern: Day shifts with some night shifts required (night shift details to be confirmed)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and reliable 4-person scaffolding gang to work on an upcoming project at UHB Solihull Hospital.

The project involves the erection of independent scaffolding and HAKI staircases to provide access for solar panel installation works.

We are ideally looking for an established gang of four who are experienced in working together. However, individual applications will also be considered.

This is a temporary position for the duration of the project only, with an estimated 4-week programme and the possibility of an extension.

Positions Available & Rates of Pay

We require the following 4 operatives:

  • -1 x Advanced Scaffolder with SMSTS – £280 per day
  • -1 x Part 2 Scaffolder – £250 per day
  • -2 x Part 1 Scaffolders or COTS Labourers:
  • -Part 1 Scaffolder – £200 per day
  • -COTS Labourer – £150 per day

IMPORTANT: The Advanced Scaffolder MUST hold a valid SMSTS qualification. This is an essential requirement and is non-negotiable.

The remaining two positions can be filled by any combination of Part 1 Scaffolders and COTS Labourers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • -Erecting independent scaffolding to support solar installation works.
  • -Erecting and dismantling HAKI staircase access systems.
  • -Working safely and efficiently as part of a 4-person scaffolding gang.
  • -Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with site health and safety requirements.
  • -Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • -Following instructions and site procedures while working within a live hospital environment.

Requirements

  • -Valid and appropriate CISRS/COTS cards for each operative.
  • -Advanced Scaffolder must hold a valid SMSTS qualification.
  • -Previous experience erecting independent scaffolding.
  • -Experience with HAKI staircases is desirable.
  • -Good understanding of scaffolding health and safety procedures.
  • -Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
  • -Willingness to undertake night shifts when required (details to be confirmed).
