Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated scaffold yard manager to support the upkeep and enhancement of our outdoor space and scaffolding equipment. This role involves maintaining all equipment and general groundskeeping tasks to ensure a safe, attractive, and well-maintained environment. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest and willingness to learn and develop their skills in various maintenance techniques. The starting rate is negotiable depending on experience and if a fork lift licence is held. The scheduled hours for this position ideally are 12pm-8pm Monday-Thursday. However, times/days may vary. The applicant must have skills and experience with the following:

  • Operate hand tools
  • Support the use of power tools and other groundskeeping activities
  • General maintenance, servicing and organisation of all stock
  • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Maintain cleanliness of the yard area by removing debris and ensuring pathways are clear
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards
  • Prepare safe working loads for lorries
  • Cutting and rebanding boards
  • Preparing and storing stillages of serviced equipment
  • Painting and preparing new and used equipment

Experience

  • Previous experience in maintenance is essential
  • Basic mechanical knowledge related to machinery and power tools is desirable
  • Familiarity with hand tools used in construction work is preferred
  • Experience operating equipment such as excavators or irrigation systems will be considered a plus
  • An interest in construction or general maintenance work is beneficial
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks is required

Pay: From £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cullompton, Devon: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
