Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The ideal applicant will possess relevant experience in roofing and construction, with proficiency in using various tools and materials to complete projects efficiently and safely.

Duties

  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine roofing specifications.
  • Install new roofs using hand tools, power tools, and roofing materials, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Repair or replace damaged roofing components, including shingles, tiles, metal sheets, or flat roofing systems.
  • Operate welding equipment for metal roofing fabrication when necessary.
  • Use masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and fabrication skills to support roofing projects as needed.
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal sheets to facilitate installation or repairs.
  • Conduct inspections of roofs to identify issues and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment on-site to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Follow health and safety regulations diligently when working at heights or with hazardous materials.

Experience

  • Proven experience in roofing or construction is essential; familiarity with roofing systems is highly desirable.
  • Skills in reading schematics and technical drawings are advantageous.
  • Competence in welding, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or fabrication will be considered a plus.
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in roofing projects.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or repair tasks.
  • Prior work involving working at heights on ladders or scaffolding is preferred.
