Soderberg is a Scandinavian-inspired bakery and café with a focus on high-quality coffee and artisanal baked goods and are dedicated to creating a welcoming and vibrant café experience for our customers.

Our East Dulwich Branch offers a mix of sit-in and takeaway services, delivering a warm and friendly atmosphere to our locals.

Role Overview: We are hiring x2 full time Baristas/FOH team members. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional coffee and customer service, while supporting the smooth operation of our café.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Specialty Coffee Expertise: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with specialty coffee, with a focus of flavour, speed and consistency.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Experience using Victoria Arduino grinders and La Marzocco espresso machines. You will need to confidently operate, adjust, and troubleshoot these machines to deliver high-quality espresso and coffee drinks. An interest in brewing filter coffee is a plus.
  • Customer Service: A warm, friendly, and people-focused individual who enjoys engaging with customers and creating a positive atmosphere in the café.
  • Fast-paced Environment: Able to thrive in a busy café setting, managing both sit-in and takeaway service with efficiency, while maintaining high standards.
  • Team Player: Willing to support a small, dedicated team, helping with various tasks as needed, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Technology Awareness: Basic knowledge of Lightspeed, Embargo and other takeaway apps to manage orders and ensure smooth service.
  • Interest in Trends: A passion for coffee trends and an enthusiasm for learning more about the latest in specialty coffee and baking is highly valued.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge or interest in baking is a plus, as we are part of a larger bakery team with a focus on sourdough bread and Scandinavian pastries and cakes
