New Formation Education is an Education Recruitment Agency working on behalf of a client school to source this role

Location: Islington, North London

Role: Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full time during term time - Monday – Friday - 8.30am -4:00pm.

Pay: £90 - £105 per day (PAYE)

Start Date: September 2026 until July 2027

We're currently working on a Teaching Assistant vacancy for a mainstream primary school in the borough of Islington, North London

Your Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant you will be offering students and staff support which could be some or all of the following areas - 1:1 support within the classroom, SEN support, offering general classroom assistance and running small groups with identified pupils (e.g. lower ability or gifted & talented)

What do you need?

· A qualification (Maths and English GCSE's at the minimum)

· A desire to work with children and guide their learning development

· Aspirations to become a teacher (not essential!)

· Availability to work school hours (between 8:30am - 4:00pm)

· Some relevant experience working with young people or personal experience with young people

The jobs on offer will provide you with invaluable skills and experience necessary to become a successful teacher and will also support securing a position on an upcoming teacher training programme, if that's what you plan to move onto next in your career.
