This is an in-person, field-based , multi-site role. Please only apply if you are able to commute to school sites within approximately one hour of Harrow, Woking and Haringey.

Second Line IT Field Technician

Location: School Sites within 1 Hour of Harrow, Woking and Haringey.
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £28,000–£34,000 per year

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Second Line IT Field Technician to join our growing team, providing onsite IT support to schools across the Harrow, Woking and Haringey.

Working as part of a fast-growing Managed Service Provider (MSP), you'll deliver outstanding technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and help ensure schools' IT systems operate efficiently. This is a varied, customer-facing role where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite second-line technical support across multiple school sites
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues
  • Install, configure and maintain computers, laptops and peripherals
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and device configuration
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including VPNs, LANs, DNS and Firewalls
  • Deploy software, updates and security patches
  • Record and manage support requests using Halo
  • Carry out routine system maintenance, backups and updates
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service

Essential Requirements

  • Level 4 industry-specific IT qualification
  • Minimum two years' experience in an onsite or field-based Second Line IT Support role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Intune
  • Demonstrable experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Windows OS, Android and iOS
  • Demonstrable experience with VPNs, LANs, DNS and Firewalls
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Well organised with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum three penalty points) and access to your own vehicle
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Able to travel between school sites within approximately one hour of Harrow, Woking and Haringey.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured environment
