Catering/Kitchen Assistant -Eastbourne

About Us

Relish School Food are a Fresh Food company, passionate for providing top quality meals to schools across the country, including special needs schools. We recently won the Jamie Oliver award within one of our schools.

The successful candidate must have a passion for service and food, be reliable and enjoy working in schools.

**Full induction and training will be provided by our experienced Chef**.

  • 10 hours p/w, 11:30 a.m. - 13:30 p.m.- Monday to Friday
  • Term Time Only 39 weeks a year, get paid during summer holidays and half terms
  • You will work alongside other Kitchen Assistants and the Chef Manager.

The following role will require you to:

  • Support the Catering Manager in preparing balanced, wholesome meals (breakfast, break time and lunch) for our students and staff.
  • To serve meals, and to give attention to tables if necessary.
  • Ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean, tidy and adhere to our health and safety standards.
  • To participate in the production of food items in line with the day’s menu or with batch baking where appropriate.
  • To talk to the pupils, staff & visitors as appropriate – in order to guide their choice of menu items and increase awareness of foods.
  • To adhere to the in-house catering management system to all the house rules & critical control points.
  • To wash all equipment, both kitchen and service items.
  • To prepare the dining facilities – this includes, where appropriate the placing and removal of the tables and chairs to and from the storage area and also with the cleaning of the area after service.
  • To participate in the completion of all necessary records as required.
  • To wear appropriate uniform as required by the Academy.
  • In addition, any other reasonable duties as requested by the Catering Manager.
