About the Role

Do you love cooking delicious, healthy meals and seeing little faces light up at lunchtime? We’re looking for a friendly and passionate Nursery Chef to join our team and bring creativity to our kitchen!

As our Nursery Chef, you’ll play a big part in our children’s day by preparing nutritious, tasty meals and snacks that fuel their learning, play, and growth. From colourful fruit platters to comforting homemade lunches, your food will help create happy and healthy mealtimes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing fresh, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0–5
  • Creating fun, varied menus that encourage children to enjoy healthy food
  • Catering for allergies, dietary needs, and cultural preferences
  • Keeping the kitchen sparkling clean and following food safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records regarding temperature controls and to meet health and safety and environmental health requirements at all times.
  • Managing food orders, stock, and reducing waste
  • Working closely with nursery staff to make mealtimes positive and enjoyable
  • Encouraging healthy eating habits from an early age

What We’re Looking For

✔ Someone who loves cooking healthy, homemade food
✔ Experience as a cook or chef (nursery or school experience is a bonus!)
✔ Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
✔ Knowledge of allergens and food safety
✔ A positive, organised, and reliable team player

Safeguarding

Hours are negotiable either 9:00am to 2:30pm OR 8:30am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday.

Please not we are NOT a term time only nursery, and we are open 51 weeks of the year.

Pay: £19,000.00-£21,450.00 per year
