This is a term time only post, 2.5 hours daily 11am till 1.30pm, starting Thursday 3rd September 2026.
We are seeking a Supervisor to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and well-organised break and lunchtime experience for pupils. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining discipline, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting students during their midday break. Prior experience in working with students is advantageous, but a genuine interest in working in a school is essential. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the school community whilst developing valuable skills.

Duties

  • Supervise pupils during the break and lunchtime period, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Monitor behaviour and promote positive interactions among students
  • Support students in managing their meals if required
  • Encourage good manners, respect, and social skills among pupils
  • Serve lunch and oversee break time snacks
  • Address minor behavioural issues promptly and escalate concerns to senior staff when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and orderly dining area before and after lunch sessions
  • Clear and wash up crockery and cutlery following service
  • Maintain a clear, clean and safe, kitchen and service area
  • Support pupils with additional needs to ensure an inclusive environment
  • Checking the staffroom load/unload dishwasher
  • Checking toilets for supplies only, paper products and handwash (no cleaning)

Requirements

  • Prior experience in working with students is desirable but not essential; a genuine interest in supporting students is required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage positively with students and staff
  • Food handling experience desirable, but not essential, training will be offered.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and approachable in a busy environment
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and follow school policies on behaviour management and safeguarding
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to creating a safe lunchtime environment for all pupils

Pay: £6,000.00 per year
