Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for exciting new long term role for September?
Are you wanting to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and help them thrive?
LTS are currently looking for committed and motivated SEND Teaching Assistants to join one of our client schools in the EN3 area of Enfield, North London.
You will be supporting secondary aged pupils, aged 13 to 19 years with Special Educational Needs including:
- Autism
- Speech, language and communication needs
- Challenging behaviour
The successful SEND Teaching Assistants will work with students on a one-to-one and small group basis throughout the day to support them with both their learning and their personal, social, and mental health needs.
The role is full time, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am until 3.30pm each day. However, you will also have additional training on a Wednesday after school for 1 hour until 4.30pm.
You will be paid daily, between £93 and £95 a day, on a weekly basis and you will be expected to follow the local school term dates, ideally avoiding taking holiday in term time to enable you to build a good relationship with the pupils.
This role is not without its challenges; however, it is very rewarding, and you will be fully supported by a highly skilled, friendly staff team who will equip you with the resources and knowledge you need to help the pupils to progress.
The ideal candidate would be expected to:
- Work towards the pupils individualised targets set out within the EHCP, in liaison with the class teachers and senior leaders
- Develop knowledge of the particular needs of the pupils and seek advice from the senior leaders, class teachers and outside agencies as directed
- Be fully involved in the planning, preparation and delivery of the day-to-day activities
- Provide regular feedback to the class teachers about the pupils’ progress and difficulties
- Use individualised strategies to support the pupils to access the curriculum and thrive personally
- Encourage and enable pupil participation and performance
- Supervise the pupils during non-classroom time
Experience with Special Educational Needs, specifically supporting those with Autism is essential for this role.
