Spark2Life is a community-inspired charity working across London, Kent and Buckinghamshire to prevent harm and promote life. Since 2006, we’ve been delivering programmes that reduce the risk of children and young adults entering cycles of offending. We provide mentoring, advocacy, counselling, awareness training and family support to help young people build positive futures.
About the Role:
As a School Mentor, you will work with young people and young adults (aged 11–18) who are at risk of or involved in criminal activity or serious youth violence. You’ll manage a caseload of up to 15 individuals, providing 1:1 mentoring, advocacy, and support to help them access education, training, employment and other positive opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored 1:1 mentoring sessions to challenge values, beliefs and behaviours
- Provide advocacy and practical support with problem-solving
- Build positive relationships with young people, families, and partner agencies
- Support service users to access education, training and employment
- Maintain accurate case notes and monitor progress
- Attend professional meetings and represent Spark2Life effectively
About You:
We value life experience and commitment over formal qualifications. You should have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of youth violence, offending, and related issues
- Confidence in engaging with young people from diverse backgrounds
- A commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
Desirable:
- Experience working with offenders or those at risk
- Case management experience
- Driving licence and access to a car
What We Offer:
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
- Free counselling and Employee Assistance Programme
- Discounts via our Bright HR platform
- Annual performance reviews and development plans
- Team building activities throughout the year
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to £27,000.00 per year
Benefits:
