Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our term-time childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their early development and learning. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and early childhood education to make a positive impact on children's lives while developing their managerial skills and own professional development.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in accordance with nursery guidelines.
  • Supervise children during play, meal times, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with parents and colleagues to support individual development plans.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment that promotes learning and exploration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet the educational standards and promote inclusive practices.
  • Assist with daily administrative tasks such as attendance records and activity planning.
  • Support the onboarding of new staff members through mentoring and guidance.
  • Being a team player and using their initiative carry out daily tasks.
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of Safeguarding and the EYFS.

Skills

  • Desirable level 2 or 3 in childcare, however, training can be offered.
  • Proven experience in childcare or nursery settings, with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles.
  • Strong communication skills in English, capable of engaging confidently with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with children, showing patience, empathy, and creativity.
  • Knowledge of childcare regulations and best practices in early years education.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently within a busy environment.
