At Siemens Healthineers Llanberis, situated at the foot of Snowdon in North Wales, we are the sole manufacturer of IMMULITE reagents, used in blood analysers to aid the diagnosis and treatment of patients. These products are distributed globally and support healthcare systems in over 50 countries.
The opportunity
Apply now for the position of QC Technician Intern (Sample Preparation or Microbiology) and gain hands‑on experience in a Quality Control laboratory within a global healthcare organisation.
This internship offers the opportunity to:
- Work in a regulated laboratory environment, supporting testing and sample preparation activities
- Gain exposure to real manufacturing and quality processes used in the production of diagnostic reagents
- Develop your understanding of how laboratory work supports patient outcomes and product quality
You’ll be part of a collaborative team, contributing to meaningful work while building practical laboratory and workplace skills.
Your role
As a QC Technician Intern, you will support a range of laboratory activities within our Quality Control team.
Across both areas, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience working in a regulated laboratory environment
- Support the preparation and delivery of samples and testing required to maintain product quality
- Learn how to accurately document laboratory work in line with industry and compliance requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the team
- Collaborate with colleagues across Quality Control, Manufacturing Operations, and Technical Operations
Sample Preparation placement:
- Support the preparation of samples for Quality Control testing, including patient samples and evaluation materials
- Assist with stress testing and preparation of samples across different stages of testing
- Ensure samples are handled and prepared in line with laboratory standards and procedures
Microbiology placement:
- Support bioburden testing of environmental, raw material, and product samples
- Assist in microbiological testing processes within a regulated laboratory setting
This is a site-based role, working 5 days per week in Llanberis.
About you
We’re looking for an undergraduate student currently studying towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in a Biological Sciences discipline, and seeking a 12 month internship opportunity.
You should have:
- A proactive and flexible approach, with good time management skills
- Confidence working in a laboratory-based environment
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in healthcare and laboratory-based roles
No extensive industry experience is required — we’ll support you as you develop your skills.
You must also have eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the internship, starting September 2026.
