Full job description

Technical Centre Role:

Working alongside experienced WSL staff members, we will be looking to train any successful applicant in the skill of colour matching. Both matching top shade and tinctorial strength.

Successful applicants will be trained in the use of a wide range of industry standard machinery and lab equipment. Ranging from technical mixing and milling machines, state of art colour measurement IT systems.

WSL supply colour concentrates to many different sectors within the polymer industry and applicants will glean knowledge of how colour impacts a variety of said polymer systems.

In due course, opportunities may become available for direct dealings with both upstream and downstream business partners.

Quality Control Role:

Again, working alongside experienced WSL staff members, we will be looking to train any successful applicant in the skill of colour matching. Both matching top shade and tinctorial strength.

The role within the QC lab is more manufacture-facing than that in the Technical Centre; working closely with WSL process operatives in the control of specifications outlined in our quality systems.

Applicants will again be trained in the use of colour measurement IT systems as well as other analytical equipment used in quality control.

By way of job responsibility, the applicants will oversee the upkeep of our Master Standards room. Our ‘standards’ are the backbone of control of all material WSL supplies to market. A very responsible duty.

Applicant Qualifications:

The manufacture of pigment dispersion is fundamentally a formulation-controlled chemical batch process operation.

With this in mind we would ideally be looking for applicants who have obtained A-level pass grades in both Chemistry and Mathematics.

Allied to this, we would be looking for applicants with a high competency in IT applications primarily within the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Future Learning:

WSL always looks to expand skills and learning of its employees. This opportunity would also be available as part of any role.

Pay: From £22,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Free parking
  • Sick pay

Work Location: In person
