A-Level Chemistry Tutor (Online Small Group Tuition)About the Role

We are seeking an outstanding A-Level Chemistry Tutor to join our growing online tutoring programme. This role involves delivering live, online small-group lessons (8–10 students) to highly motivated A-Level students preparing for examinations.

Our programme focuses on exceptional teaching, exam technique, and helping students achieve top grades. We are looking for tutors who can create engaging, interactive lessons while building students' confidence and understanding of the A-Level Chemistry curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality online lessons to small groups of 8–10 A-Level Chemistry students.
  • Teach across the A-Level Chemistry specification, including Physical, Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.
  • Break down complex concepts into clear, accessible explanations.
  • Guide students through exam-style questions, mark schemes and effective exam technique.
  • Encourage participation and create an interactive online learning environment.
  • Monitor individual student progress and identify areas requiring additional support.
  • Provide constructive feedback and practical revision strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the programme team to maintain consistently high teaching standards.
  • Prepare for lessons using programme resources and contribute ideas to improve teaching materials where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Experience teaching A-Level Chemistry in a school, sixth form or college.
  • Excellent understanding of at least one UK examination board (AQA, OCR or Edexcel).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Confident using online teaching platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
  • Passion for helping students achieve outstanding academic outcomes.

Desirable

  • Current or former A-Level Chemistry Examiner.
  • Experience delivering online tuition.
  • Experience teaching high-achieving students aiming for A/A* grades.
  • Familiarity with digital whiteboards and online assessment tools.
