Full job description

An enthusiastic and experienced teacher of secondary school Science is required to teach home-based pupils at the UK's newest and fastest growing online school. (Please do not apply without the required qualifications or experience.)

We pride ourselves in having teachers who are the top of their field, so would like to invite applications from teachers with extensive qualifications and obviously a great deal of teaching experience.

This role would involve teaching for part-time hours, term time, during the normal school day. Initially the role involves teaching KS3 Science and A Level Chemistry, starting ASAP. Available hours are likely to grow as pupil numbers grow, so we would like to find someone who can also teach GCSE, who has the capacity to take on more hours in the future.

The pay is £30 per hour. This hourly rate is 'per lesson' rather than per actual hour, so includes planning and marking time. Additional work such as meetings with parents and report writing can be invoiced at the hourly rate. There is the opportunity to take on more hours if you are able to lead extra-curricular clubs, and there is also the possibility of taking on pastoral roles within the school if desired.

For tax purposes, you are classed as self-employed, i.e. you sort out your own tax.

The successful candidate must be able to commit to the full academic year to avoid any unnecessary disruption for the students.

The candidate must be organised, have a quiet place to teach and must enjoy working from home.
