Swissport Hiring Event – Ground operations Operative

Glasgow Airport
Fixed‑term until 31/10/2026
25 hours per week | Shift work Monday–Sunday
£12.91 per hour

About the Role

As a Airport Ground Operatives, you’ll be part of the team that keeps airport operations running smoothly. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where no two days look the same. You’ll be working outdoors, supporting aircraft turnaround, and ensuring passengers, baggage, and cargo are handled safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Safely loading and unloading baggage, cargo, and mail
  • Marshalling aircraft to and from stands
  • Operating ground service equipment (tugs, belt loaders, baggage carts, etc.)
  • Carrying out aircraft servicing tasks such as cabin cleaning, water replenishment, and lavatory servicing
  • Following all safety and security procedures
  • Providing excellent service to airline partners and passengers

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a similar role is helpful but not essential
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings
  • A FULL UK manual driving licence
  • Ability to pass background and security checks
