Job Overview
We’re building a new kitchen team for an exciting rooftop bar concept in the heart of Edinburgh. Led by award winning chef, Scott Smith, previously of Fhior Restaurant.

The food offering will champion the best Scottish produce, interpreted through the lens of modern European food-led bars – bold flavours, strong technique, and dishes designed to work seamlessly with a drinks-first environment.

This is a fast-paced, high-profile project with a clear focus on quality, consistency, and calm professionalism. We’re looking for people who care about standards, teamwork, and doing things properly.

We’re recruiting Chef de Parties to join a new kitchen team for this exciting project.

This role is ideal for chefs who value structure, teamwork, and consistent standards in a fast-paced service environment.

The role

  • Running your section during prep and service
  • Maintaining consistency, quality and cleanliness
  • Working closely with sous chefs and head chef
  • Supporting junior team members where required
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards

You’ll suit this role if you:

  • Have experience as a CDP (or are a strong Commis ready to step up)
  • Are organised, reliable and detail-focused
  • Enjoy working as part of a tight, professional team
  • Care about food, standards and learning
  • Want stability and progression in a well-run kitchen

What’s on offer

  • £30,000–£33,000, depending on experience
  • Full-time role
  • Clear leadership and structure
  • Opportunity to grow with the project

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
  • Cook a variety of menu items efficiently and accurately during service hours
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
  • Assist in meal preparation for special events or catering as required
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service
  • Monitor stock levels and notify management of supply needs or shortages
  • Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold a safe working environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant setting
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques and meal presentation standards
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in meal assembly and presentation
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

This position offers an engaging environment for those passionate about culinary arts, with opportunities for professional growth within our organisation.
