Full job description
About us:
B4Box are an award-winning construction company who do things differently, based on our company values which aim to deliver quality construction and maintenance works for the local community. We provide work and training opportunities for people -including those deemed 'hard-to-reach' and invest in our employees. We reward hard work and enthusiasm with local work (no long-distance travel), great hours and no weekend work, as well as career development opportunities, within a supportive work culture.
About the Role:
The role involves delivering a full schedule of works, on time and to budget on Social Housing properties. The job also requires adherence to Health and Safety guidelines with a pro-active approach to safety. The role will be challenging at times and would therefore suit a patient and experienced Multi-skilled Operative. The ideal candidate should have a recognised qualification, or at least 5 years of experience in one of the following trades: Joinery, Plastering or Plumbing. Additionally, there should be a willingness to undertake other trades if required, such as Painting and Decorating, Tiling, Floor Screeding etc. The role involves supporting our apprentices to achieve their full potential, so requires an empathetic and supportive colleague, who is able to mentor and impart their skills on others. A full, valid, UK driving license is essential to fulfil the role, and in return B4Box will supply a vehicle and fuel card for the purposes of work. Additionally, B4Box can offer you an excellent pension scheme as well as a supportive workplace that is committed to your professional development.
Main Duties:
1. Carrying out refurbishment and maintenance work, over a variety of work streams, on time, within budget and to required standards.
2. Supporting colleagues and Apprentices in an empathetic manner and being patiently willing to impart your skills.
3. Adhering to all health and safety guidelines whilst working, including newly introduced guidelines relating to Covid-19.
4. Exhibit great teamwork, with a willingness to undertake multiple trades and consistently help the team across different workstreams, where necessary.
5. Ensure you are delivering great customer service to all customers, clients and local residents when working on site.
6. Excellent attendance and punctuality to demonstrate commitment to colleagues and customers.
7. Driving company vehicles in a safe and legally compliant way.
Note: This list of duties is not exhaustive and there is an expectancy to contribute towards other projects and support colleagues in line with the needs of the business.
About You:
You will be an accomplished trades person who takes pride in your work. You will be ambitious, empathetic and, ideally, experienced in the Social Housing Repairs and Maintenance sectors. You should have a keen eye for Health and Safety and a desire to work for a company who aim to be supportive. B4Box may be different to other organisations you have worked for and there is an expectation on you to be able to represent the company values both within B4Box and to external clients and customers.
Essential:
- Recognised qualification (or minimum 5 years experience) in one of the following trades: Joinery, Plastering, or Plumbing.
- Familiarity with and willingness to undertake other trades if required, such as Painting and Decorating, or Tiling
- Must have own tools
- Empathetic, supportive and willing to provide mentorship for learners
Desirable:
· Full, valid UK driver’s licence.
- Qualifications, or more than five years in additional trades
- Experience of working in full property Social Housing repair and maintenance programmes
- Stockport resident
We aim to be an Equal Opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified applicants.
