Location: Rainham, Essex
Position: Trainee HGV Driver/Floor Screeder
Salary: £450 per week
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Some Saturdays may be required)

TCS Screeding are looking for hard-working individuals who are eager to learn and grow within our company. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career in HGV driving and/or floor screeding, with the potential to progress into a specialised trade.

Role Overview:
Starting as a Driver’s Mate, the successful applicant will assist our BREMAT (Screed Mobile Batching Plant) lorry drivers, traveling to various construction sites across the UK, primarily in the South East and Central London. You will receive hands-on training from experienced team members, learning a variety of tasks, duties, and trades.

As you progress, TCS will assess your strengths and help you develop in a specific area, providing training and support to gain a NVQ acquisition/certification as appropriate. As development occurs wages will be increased to reflect the new responsibility held.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the yard.
• Learn to operate various plants across the TCS fleet.
• Assist screed teams and learn semi-dry and liquid screed systems.
• Train in and carry out screed preparation.
• Assist with the maintenance of HGVs and various plants, including upkeep, repairs, and clean-up.
• Ensure good Health & Safety practices throughout.
• Perform any other tasks as required by TCS management.

Requirements:

• Full driving license (preferred).
• Local to the yard in Rainham, Essex (preferred).
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced HGV drivers, floor screeders, and site management.
• Ability to work under pressure in a physically demanding role.
• Good communication skills, able to work well within a team and with other trades on site.
• CSCS Card (we can assist in obtaining this if needed).
