Senior Site Lead – Construction Delivery
Senior Site Lead – Construction Delivery
Job details
Full job description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Lead in Construction Delivery to take primary responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of our live swimming pool and wellness construction projects.
This is a senior site-based position with responsibility for managing the successful delivery of high-profile, technically demanding and business-critical projects, across both commercial and high-end residential environments.
Once a project moves into the live construction phase, you will take ownership of its day-to-day site delivery, working closely with the Head of Installation, Contract/Project Management team, site engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client-side teams to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required programme and quality standards.
The role requires someone who is comfortable taking responsibility on site, leading teams, solving problems and making informed day-to-day decisions to keep projects moving.
You will have a strong focus on construction progress, labour coordination, quality, materials, snagging and handover readiness, while maintaining clear communication with the wider project team regarding progress, risks, resource requirements and any issues requiring escalation.
The position will involve regular travel and working away from home, typically Monday to Friday. Standard working hours are 8.00am – 5.00pm, with overtime and occasional varied working hours required depending on project demands.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Delivery
- Take primary responsibility for the day-to-day site delivery of allocated live projects.
- Discuss, agree and understand project programmes, key milestones and deliverables with the Head of Installation and wider project team.
- Drive site progress against the agreed project programme, identifying potential delays or constraints and taking proactive action to maintain momentum.
- Maintain a clear understanding of project priorities and ensure daily and weekly activities are aligned with programme requirements.
- Take ownership of the site installation process through to completion, snagging and handover.
- Maintain a strong focus on delivering a well-executed installation that meets both company standards and client expectations.
- Regularly assess overall project readiness and identify what is required to move the project successfully into its next stage.
Site Team & Labour Coordination
- Lead and coordinate engineers, installers and subcontractors working on allocated projects.
- Review labour and resource requirements against the project programme and communicate requirements to the Head of Installation.
- Plan and assign daily and weekly tasks to engineers and site teams.
- Ensure the workforce understands project priorities, expected outputs and quality requirements.
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials and specialist activities to ensure work progresses efficiently.
- Identify potential resource shortfalls or conflicting requirements in advance and raise these with the Head of Installation.
- Support, guide and develop less experienced members of the installation team through effective on-site leadership.
- Promote a professional, organised and accountable working culture on site.
Programme, Progress & Reporting
- Monitor actual site progress against planned activities and project milestones.
- Provide clear and regular updates to the Head of Installation and project management team covering works completed, upcoming activities, programme status, labour requirements, material requirements, site constraints, client or main contractor issues, technical challenges and risks to programme or completion.
- Identify blockers early and take responsibility for resolving day-to-day site issues wherever possible.
- Escalate significant programme, commercial, technical or resource issues to the Head of Installation in a timely manner.
- Support the wider project team in managing changes to project scope and identifying potential variations.
Quality, Snagging & Handover
- Maintain and enforce high standards of workmanship and presentation across all allocated projects.
- Regularly inspect completed works to ensure installations are being delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and company standards.
- Identify quality issues early and ensure corrective works are completed promptly.
- Manage snagging activities and drive defects through to completion.
- Take responsibility for ensuring plantrooms, pool areas and associated installations are presented professionally and left clean and organised.
- Maintain a strong focus on handover readiness, ensuring outstanding works, documentation, testing and snagging are completed in a controlled and timely manner.
- Support project completion and final handover to the client and wider project team.
Materials, Plant & Logistics
- Assess material requirements in advance to ensure the site team has the equipment and materials required to maintain progress.
- Coordinate with the office, procurement and project teams to organise project-critical deliveries.
- Check deliveries on site to ensure materials and equipment are received correctly and report discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain appropriate control of materials and equipment on site to minimise wastage, damage and unnecessary project costs.
- Ensure appropriate tools, access equipment and specialist equipment are available for planned works.
Technical Installation Responsibilities
Although this is a senior delivery role, you will be expected to maintain a strong technical understanding of swimming pool and wellness installations and, where required, work alongside the installation team to deliver the projects on the ground. Responsibilities will include:
