Floor Layer - Stevenage Borough Council (via Hays Recruitment)
Location: Stevenage
Hourly Rate: £18.97 - £21.87 per hour Hours: 37 per week (Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-3:30pm)
Contract Length: Until 15 August 2025
Start Date: Immediate
Full driving licence requiredHays is recruiting for an experienced Floor Layer to join their Building Safety & Property Repairs team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and repair vinyl (cap and cove), lino, laminate, and carpet flooring.
- Prepare and level floors using latexing and screeding techniques.
- Work across a variety of domestic and public buildings, including sheltered housing and care homes.
- Support major refurbishments, new builds, and responsive maintenance.
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service.
Essential Requirements:
- Immediate availability.
- Proven experience in wet room/bathroom vinyl and kitchen vinyl laying.
- Latex floor preparation experience.
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
- Experience working in local authority or public housing settings preferred.
